Simple red Spondylus (sea-shell) pendant, with some pyrite beads. This pendant is completely handmade, with the highest quality of Brazilian waxed string. The cabochon of Spondylus is from Atacames, located in Esmeraldas province, in the northeastern region of Ecuador.
This shell, called "Mullu" by the natives of the Andean region, had a high value in the Inca Empire. In fact, the Spondylus was considered the "red gold" of the Incas.
